LTC 2013 - A Day In The Life

As student leaders from all over the Garden State arrive at LTC, Fletch shows the way...

10:18 a.m.

While Sue Justis takes care of our many delegates who come to LTC by bus...

This year, we have delegates coming from as far away as Panama City...welcome, Oxford International School!

10:40 a.m.

As our delegates arrive, our enthusiastic Junior Counselors are waiting to greet them!


11:02 a.m.

At registration, the Name Tag Committee is hard at work to make sure each delegate has a unique name tag...

11:07 a.m.

And it looks like we have three very satisfied customers!

When our delegates arrive, the Junior Counselors quickly get them into the spirit of LTC...

Their enthusiasm and energy is truly contagious - one minute it's JC DeCaf...

It's Educational Director Pam Freund's 25th year at LTC! Did you see Pam to tell her "Thank you for Sticking with LTC"?

In our first class session, delegates learn all about "Speaking With Ease" getting practice with supportive feedback.

5:46 p.m.

At dinner, Ryan Vyskocil enjoys the introductions for the hardest working people at LTC...our Junior Counselors!

Delegate Eduardo has a little trouble with a Rubik's Cube while JC Micayla Mirabella lends her support...

At our first meal, the prizes are being given out already... each one "Pam tested and Pam approved"!

In their second class, our delegates learn the secrets of "Effective Communication".

At the Get Acquainted Games, our Junior Counselors help the delegates get to know one another a little better...

And it doesn't take long for our delegates to catch on...

The "Lone Leader" says he does not need LTC or anyone but himself. SC Annie Valentine is quite skeptical...

Steph, our 58th delegate, tries to explain to the "Lone Leader" why he should stick (like Pam) with LTC for the next few days!

Now that the "Lone Leader" will be sticking around LTC for a while, it's time for our first Songfest! Yanal Kazan and Jonathan Peck gets it started...

And within a few minutes, everyone in the room has gotten into the Songfest spirit...

At breakfast, Junior Counselors Nick Nahrwold and Steve Desilets demonstrate the importance of good dental hygiene, LTC style.

Senior Counselor Michelle Riker helps show our delegates the importance of "Goals for Planning S.M.A.R.T"...


11:25 A.m.

At the second assembly, our delegates hear about our 2013-2014 State Charity, "The H.E.R.O. Campaign" - they already know all about it in Ocean City...

11:40 A.m.

Right away they are ready to promote our 2013-2014 State Charity and make the roads of New Jersey safer for all!

11:56 a.m.

At lunch, we welcome and recognize our Advisors from Oxford International School in Panama City...

We also eagerly await the culinary report from Senior Counselor Alex Mirabella, with the help of a couple delegates!

1:13 p.m.

In their fourth class, delegates learn how to conduct "Meetings For Success"...

JCs Rachel Yee, DeCaf, and John Howard are ready to help with our fifth class, where delegates are reminded that they are "Elected To Lead Everyone"...

While Last Year Junior Counselor Samantha Berk becomes a human billboard to encourage her Gray Team...

Meanwhile, things get intense for the Purple Team at the frisbee toss, which combines speed and accuracy...

And also for the Yellow Team which races to move the ball as fast as they can at over under...

Meanwhile, in a less athletic event the Aqua Team shows off how well they sing "Peace"...

The LTC Games are all about teamwork, and the bonding that takes place within each group is simply incredible...

After the LTC Games, it's time for Show Night! Fas and Senior Counselor Aly Sitzler share a moment during the SC skit...

Junior Counselor Michaela Brown starts off breakfast on our third day of LTC 2013 with a Thought For The Day...

Later at breakfast, Pam Freund gets serenaded by Junior Counselors so glad that she "Stuck With LTC" for 25 years!

9:47 a.m.

Senior Counselor Andrea LaRocca gives advice on decision making that shows "You Make The Call" when it comes to success!

10:58 a.m.

In their seventh class delegates learn how to "Deal With I.T.!" as Senior Counselor Emily Golas helps them sort it all out.

11:52 a.m.

Last Year Junior Counselor Erin Lauer helps the "JCs R.O.C.K" our delegates right before lunch...

12:48 p.m.

At lunch, Educational Director Pam Freund recognizes student leaders who have demonstrated they are "Jersey S.T.R.O.N.G." in their school and community...

At lunch today, the delegates are treated to a North-South jousting match!

12:59 p.m.

After that, Officer Varga (of the Metro D.C. Police) lays down the law about appropriate dancing later tonight...

While delegates learn how to "Make Your Time Count" in their eighth class; State Officers Leah and Caitlin count up some poll numbers for the LTC Ledger.

3:10 p.m.

Then they put to work what has been learned so far in their ninth class, Communication Workshop...

3:35 p.m.

By the third day our delegates have all bonded to create new friendships, some that will last a lifetime!

3:39 p.m.

At the LTC Block Party, the "Trenton Teapots" take on all comers in ultimate frisbee, and emerge victorious (again) to increase their record to 58-0...

3:58 p.m.

Some delegates decide to join Senior Counselor Prerna Bhatia for some relaxing Yoga...

4:10 p.m.

Others are content to chill out and do a little sidewalk chalk art, LTC style...

5:15 p.m.

A little rain shower is not going to stop everyone at LTC from getting dressed up...

As LTC past (1969 State Officer Colleen Kehler) and present (Pam Freund) come together...

The ladies are all dressed up and ready to celebrate...

It's a great time for a photo op, even if you need to use your own camera...

After dinner comes the delegate Talent Show. It appears that this year's 58th delegate has musical talent, too!

After the Talent Show, our delegates have a great time at the LTC Dance!

They are quickly joined by their fellow Junior Counselors, who all know someday it will be them in the center...

We don't just celebrate LTC's birthday - we've got a couple delegates who get to celebrate their own big day...LTC style!

8:58 a.m.

On her last morning as a Junior Counselor, Michaela LaPatin finally gets the most sought after prize at LTC...her own New Jersey license plate name tag!

9:12 a.m.

The boys of Troop 88 are LTC really about to be over?

9:15 a.m.

Not so fast! LTC cannot end (especially at TCNJ) without Senior Counselor Ken Malmud taking us on a "Lion Hunt"...

9:17 a.m.

And then it's JC Meghan versus SC Annie in a banana peeling contest - with their feet!

In our tenth class, T.E.A.M. Time, delegates quickly discover that "Together Everyone Achieves More" as they experience different leadership styles...

And in T.E.A.M. Time they have a BALL (or two) while learning this important fact of life...

After T.E.A.M. Time is over, our delegates take part in Focus Groups with each other...
